FAQ’s:

Does therapy always work for anxiety?

Therapy isn’t a guaranteed cure for anxiety, but research shows it’s highly effective for many.
Different therapy approaches target the root causes of anxiety and teach coping skills, leading to significant symptom reduction in most cases.
However, some people may need to try different therapists or approaches to find the best fit for their needs.

How long does it take to overcome anxiety with therapy?

Overcoming anxiety with therapy varies, but improvement can be felt within weeks.
For mild anxiety, 8-12 sessions focusing on coping skills might suffice. Moderate anxiety may take 15-20 sessions, while severe or long-term cases could require longer therapy.
Remember, progress isn’t always linear, and patience is key.

What are the negative side effects of therapy for anxiety?

While therapy is highly beneficial for anxiety, some potential downsides exist.
It can stir up uncomfortable emotions as you confront anxieties, and exposure therapy might temporarily increase anxiety.
Finding the right therapist takes time, and therapy requires consistent effort.
In rare cases, symptoms might worsen initially, but a good therapist will address these concerns and adjust the approach if needed.
