About DCHC Foundation: Enhancing Quality of Life
The Douglas County Health Center Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for both residents and staff at the health center.
Established in 1994 with a generous donation from Dr. Thomas Magruder III in memory of his family, the foundation funds long-term care improvements and supports educational opportunities for employees.
It continues to receive memorial donations, contributions honoring current residents, and support from the community.
The foundation has introduced initiatives such as a choice-focused dining system, bright solariums, a fitness center, welcome baskets for new residents, a comfort cart for hospice care, stained glass windows for the chapel, and soothing aquariums in memory care neighborhoods.
Currently, it is working on creating a Healing Garden in the Cavanaugh Courtyards, featuring memorial bricks and a butterfly sculpture by a local artist.
The foundation is guided by a dedicated board, including President Molly O’Neil and Vice President Gayle Duda, among other community members and professionals.
